Saint Xavier Tigers (19-10) vs. Male Bulldogs (14-12)
Thursday, February 23
Varsity Game — 6:30 PM
Male High School
Louisville, KY

GAME NOTES

On Tuesday night, Tiger Basketball increased its current win streak to seven games with a victory in the 26th district tournament semifinals. The Tigers bested the Brown Bears 92-47 behind a prolific offensive performance and a strong defense.

St. X now looks to defeat Male in the district final for the third consecutive year. The Tigers have not won the district title three years in a row since 1969. Male will look to ride the momentum from their 63-52 victory over Collegiate on Tuesday night.

The Tigers and Bulldogs met on February 3rd at St. Xavier. Coach Klein’s squad built an impressive 38-8 lead a few minutes into the 2nd quarter and never looked back, winning the game 78-54.

The win over Male earlier this month started the Tigers’ current win streak, and they will look to increase the streak to eight games with another victory over the Bulldogs Thursday night as they move toward next week’s 7th Region Tournament.

Make the trip to Male tonight and cheer on your Tiger Basketball team!

Saint Xavier Tigers (9-3) vs. Male Bulldogs (10-2)

Friday, November 18th

Br. Thomas More Stadium

Game Notes

The game plan should be largely the same in the rematch against the Bulldogs, but the Tigers will need to play a complete game more than ever tonight. The Tigers got out lucky with a stellar second half in the first matchup, but Male will almost certainly have a different fire in them tonight.

For the Tiger Defense, the Tiger Secondary will need to win the battle. They were largely able to control a lethal passing attack last game, and they’ll need that same performance tonight. Look for defensive back Austin Eisert to have another great game against the Bulldogs tonight.

The Tiger Offense will need to control the line of scrimmage from start to finish. The Bulldogs have been victim to a couple of injuries to their front seven, so look for the Tigers to expose that.
