This will be a running diary of today’s KHSAA Swimming and Diving State Championship events at the Ralph Wright Natatorium on the campus of the University of Louisville. (9:25) Racing doesn’t start for over 30mins, but the Rage Cage is ready to go! Section 101 is a sea of gold.
(10:07) The 200 Medley Relay of Mundt, Barnum, Harrison, McDermott wins! That’s a state record at 1:32.93.
(10:24) Clayton Forde takes 2nd in the 200 Freestyle. Trey Hubbuch was 4th.
(10:32) Heyward Harrison with the win! He was just shy of the 200IM state record.
(10:36) St. X places 2, 3, 4 in the 50 Freestyle. Mundt, McDermott, Schulten.
(11:38) Heyward Harrison is 2nd place in the 100 Butterfly.
(12:03) Trey Hubbuch snags 2nd in the 500 Freestyle. Clayton Forde was 3rd.
(12:34) Mundt, Schulten, McDermott, Forde win the 200 Freestyle Relay. The Tigers are rolling!
(12:47) Dominic Tomchek is 7th in the 100 Backstroke.
(12:53) Keefer. Barnum. That’s a 55.88. He’s your 100 Breaststroke state champ.
(1:16) Harrison, Hubbuch, Schulten, Forde swim a close race and can’t pull it out. They finish 2nd.

The matches were delayed earlier this morning due to wet courts so we are now underway at St. Xavier. Trinity and South Oldham have finished up their matches and Tiger Tennis has begun to take the courts.
(12:34 PM) Lineups were announced for the Section Two Tournament Semifinals for Tiger Tennis.
Singles- Nick Waldeck, Coleman Cox, Patrick Koshewa
Doubles- Matt Graft/Devin Kelly and Andrew Willett/Nick Quinones
(1:51 PM) Coleman Cox wins his match and gets the Tigers’ their first victory of the day winning 6-0, 6-0.
(1:54 PM) St. Xavier advances to the Section Two Tournament Championship after defeating Marion County with wins from every singles and doubles player.
Win- Patrick Koshewa 6-1, 6-1
Win- Nick Waldeck 6-2, 6-2
Win- Coleman Cox 6-0, 6-0
Win- Andrew Willett/Nick Quinones 6-0, 6-0
Win- Matt Graft/Devin Kelly 6-0, 6-0
(2:03 PM) Trinity won their first round matchup with South Oldham, so Tiger Tennis faces rival Trinity for the Section Two Tournament Championship shortly! The Tigers have defeated Trinity already twice this season (5-0 and 16-0).
(3:27 PM) Rain has delayed the start of the championship round of the Section Two Tournament. We will update you when they resume play. This could be a while seeing that the weather is projected to continue to include rain all day.
(6:40 PM) The Section Two Tournament will be resumed at 7:00 PM at the St. Xavier Brown Family Tennis Center. Tiger Tennis will play arch-rival Trinity for the title. Stay tuned for updates! Go Tigers!
(9:07 PM) Brandon Lancaster won his match with Trinity 6-0, 6-0, to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead on the Shamrocks.
(9:16 PM) Drew Singerman won the first set of his match and leads 3-0 in the second set.
(9:22 PM) Singerman finishes off his Shamrock opponent and wins 6-0, 6-0 giving the Tigers a 2-0 lead in the Championship of the Section Two Tournament. One more win and the Tigers clinch the title!
(9:36 PM) St. Xavier has clinched the 2014 Section Two Tournament with another win, this time from Coleman Cox and Nick Quinones in the Doubles 6-2, 6-3! Tiger Tennis leads 3-0 over Trinity and per KHSAA rule, the matches have been stopped after one team wins 3 courts. Kamron Akrami was up a set and the doubles team of Matt Graft/Nick Waldeck were down a set before they were stopped.

(9:45 AM) The Tiger Swimmers arrived just a bit ago and rolled in looking focused in their travel warm up suits. The coaches had their 30 minute meeting at 8:00 as scheduled and the tickets went on sale to fans a little under an hour ago. The pool is being closed right now and we’re about to get underway! Everybody wish the Tigers good luck! I’m sure the swimmers are focused but may be checking Twitter while they wait for their turn to swim. They would love to see some support from Tiger Nation! (10:10 AM) Tigers finish second in the 200 yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:34.14. Tiger Swimming (34.0 pts) sits in second place after one championship event behind Covington Catholic (40.0 pts)
(10:18 AM) John Hubbuch of St. Xavier wins the 200 yard Free with a time of 1:42.29!
(10:21 AM) The team standings were updated after the 2nd of 11 events and St. Xavier takes their first lead of the day in first place with 85.0 pts. Covington Catholic will be the competition all day and they are in second currently with 57.0 pts.
(10:32 AM) Heyward Harrison wins the 200 yard IM with an unofficial time of 1:51.49! Tigers continue to dominate! That was a big win because Heyward beat out Covington Catholic’s Chase Vennefron. We’re through 4 of 11 events and St. Xavier holds a 158.0 to 113.0 lead in the Team Standings over Covington Catholic.
(11:33 AM) Jacob Smith wins the 100 yard Fly with a time of 50.17. Tiger Swimming leads the team standings 235.0 to 184.0 over Covington Catholic through 7 events.
(11:51 AM) Noah Johnston wins the 500 yard Free and John Hubbuch finishes 4th. It’s a close one in the Team Standings. Tigers lead all teams with 282.0 pts with Covington Catholic is in 2nd with 208.0 pts.
(12:20 PM) Through 9 events St. Xavier leads Covington Catholic 282 to 242.5.
(12:42 PM) 327 points for St. X! Covington Catholic is behind by 30.5 pts with 296.5 pts total heading into the final event! Tiger Swimming is the top seed in the 400 yard Free Relay.
(1:10 PM) Tiger Swimming’s 400 yard free relay finished second, but ahead of Covington Catholic securing the team’s 50th overall state championship and 26th straight by posting 361.0 team points. Covington Catholic finishes second with 328.5 points.
(1:13 PM) KHSAA Announces the 1st Team All-State. Jacob Smith, Noah Johnston and Heyward Harrison represents Tiger Swimming on that list.
