Tiger Track and Field places 9th at Eastern Relays

The Tiger Track and Field team participated in Eastern Relays over at the UofL Cardinal Park Soccer and Track Stadium this past weekend. The Tigers competed with some of the best in the Midwest and Southeast, and they walked away with a ninth place finish and first out of Kentucky schools.

The Tigers opened up the scoring weekend Saturday morning during the 4 x 800 meter relays. The Tiger 4 x 800 meter relay team of Matthew Thomas, Ben Kleine-Kracht, Eli George and Tyler Just pulled away from the field and won with a time of 8:03.87.

In the Shot Put and Discus Throw, Jake Glass racked up the points, as he won the Shot Put and finished 7th in the Discus Throw. Glass had a personal record throw in the Shot Put, as he threw for a 56-06.50 while gaining ten points for the team. In a loaded field, Glass threw a 135-04 in the Discus throw and gave the team two more points.

In a great field of 800 meter runners, George finished 8th with a 1:59.33. He raised the team’s point total to 23 points with his performance. In the Long Jump, Max Masterson also placed 8th with a jump of 20-01.00. He also gave the team one point which gave St. X 24 points after his event.

To end the day, the 4 x 400 meter relay team of Patrick Ritter, Thomas, George and Kleine-Kracht placed 6th with a time of 3:35.87. Their 3 points brought the team to its final total at 27 points.

Tiger Track and Field to participate in Eastern Relays this weekend

 

The Tiger Track and Field team will be taking on the toughest competition of the year when they participate at Eastern Relays this weekend. Teams from all over the Midwest and Southeast will travel into Louisville for the biggest meet in the state of Kentucky each year. The Tigers will look to improve on their 16th place finish from last year.
