Two full time, licensed athletic trainers, Danny McDonald and R.J. Romero, provide top notch services to Saint Xavier students both on campus and on the road. As part of their daily responsibility, they create a classroom setting in the training room where they provide detailed instruction for approximately fifteen student athletic trainers each year. In addition, these certified athletic trainers operate as the direct link to the dedicated doctors who provide their services to St. X athletes as Team Physicians.
Student Athletic Trainers
The main objective for student athletic trainers is to learn management and care of injured athletes as well as working a full course load for school. Basic skills learned in this program are CPR, first aid, time management, and rehabilitation of injuries. Responisbilities of the student trainer are to cover practices and games with the licensed athletic trainers. Providing care for the student athletes is a year round commitment.
