Game Notes

Tiger Football takes on Fairdale tonight. Fairdale, (1-1) lost their season opener to 49-17 to Shelby County, but avenged that loss last Friday by beating Nelson County 47-18. Meanwhile, the Tigers (2-0) are trying to continue their hot streak to start the season.

The Tigers offense has been relentless this year. Jack Albers and Brett Metzmeier have been virtually unstoppable. The offensive line has provided holes for these two, as Metzmeier went for 141 yards last week and Albers ran for 2 touchdowns. There is no reason this shouldn’t continue this week, as the offensive line should overpower Fairdale’s defense and open up holes for the offense.

The Tiger defense was also superb last week. They gave up only 227 yards to a Bowling  offense that has two of the better athletes in the state. One thing the defense has done in both games this season is come up with big stops when the team needs it most. Making these stops is key to the Tigers continuing their success.

Starting running back Brett Metzmeier and starting wide receiver Will Crum will not play tonight as they rest injuries. With Metzmeier out look for junior Anthony Moretti to handle majority of the carries.

Saint. X just has more firepower than Fairdale does. Frankly, this one shouldn’t be close. I look for the Tigers to come out strong and put an underwhelming Fairdale team away early. Be looking for some new names and numbers after halftime tonight.

Game Prediction

Tucker: 52-14 Tigers

Andrew: 49-13 Tigers

MVP Predictions

Offense: Anthony Moretti

Defense: Jake Netherton

Offense: Jack Albers

Defense: Andrew Uhls
