Hello Tiger Nation! Your Tiger Football team has reached the Regional Finals in the playoffs after a controlling 42-26 win over Manual last Friday. The Tigers will rematch with Male High School at home. Last time these teams faced off, the Tigers defeated the Bulldogs with a strong defensive effort in the second half, propelled by a Hail Mary catch by Michael Meredith at the end of the first half. While some still call that game a fluke, the Tigers are poised to prove that wrong. So what have you been up to Male?

Record: 4-0 (10-2 overall)

MANUAL (home) – WIN – Male rebounded with a win over Manual in the Old Rivalry game. They defeated the Crimsons by a score of 27-14.

WESTERN (away) – WIN – Male defeated Western by a score of 41-6.

DAVIESS COUNTY (home) – WIN – The Bulldogs won their first playoff game with ease, winning 38-7.

PLEASURE RIDGE PARK (home) – WIN – By far the Bulldogs most challenging game since playing the Tigers, Male narrowly escaped defeat against a very good PRP team.Despite being down at the end of the first half, the Bulldogs pulled out a 27-24 victory.

With a chance to knock off the reigning state champs and a trip to the state semi-finals for the first time since 2009 on the line, the Tigers have all the motivation in the world coming into this game. If we look at the one common opponent each team has had since their last meeting, St.X looked far better against Manual than did Male. That may be a bit of a reach to make any inferences, but it’s something. With so many stakes on the line, expect this to be another exciting matchup.
