Game Notes

As the festivities of Spirit Week continue, today we have a triple header against Trinity for Tiger Soccer. The Varsity matchup is going to be a huge game that will impact regional seeding as the postseason is right around the corner.

The Shamrocks have a high-octane offense, and ultimately the defensive line is going to need to step it up tonight if the Tigers want any chance of winning. Last game, the Rocks scored four goals against North Oldham to win the Bulldog Cup. Look for juniors Zach Bannon and Sam Reid to lead the charge for the Tigers in the back line to stop the Trinity attacks.

The Tiger Offense is just as powerful, especially after the returns of seniors Brad Middleton and Trent Ennenbach.  Both have been major contributors all year and will put some pressure on the Shamrock defense from anywhere on the field. They will need to look for shots early and often, because the Trinity defense has put up seven shutouts this year. Along with Middleton and Ennenbach, look for Lucas Mudd and Nick Scharfenberger to threaten the Shamrocks.

“We have been building up to this game since the beginning of the season. Our team is coming out looking for blood since this would be our first varsity win against Trinity in my 4 years at St.X,” said senior goalkeeper Clayton Allen, who has helped the Tigers put up nine shutouts himself.

Get there and get rowdy and as always…
