The Tiger Cross Country team has already picked up some early season recognition. KY Milesplit ranked the Fastest Returning XC teams and unsurprisingly, the Tigers were ranked #1 in the state. By A LOT. Seriously, the gap between #1 and #2 is scary. Based off of last year’s season times, St.X leads over rival Trinity by 110 points. To put that into perspective, on average, every runner finished over 24 seconds faster than Trinity runners.

The team returns five of seven runners from the State Meet (which they won). The team will be led by Ryan Guenthner who is ranked the 4th best runner based off of last year’s times. Not far behind, though, will be Junior Patrick Schaeffer and Sophomore Zach Larkin. All three of these runners placed in the Top 11 finishers at the State Meet last year.

Their first meet is the Tiger Run on Saturday @ River Road Country Club. If these rankings are accurate, look for the team to completely blow out the field. At this point, the Tigers look like a good bet to win their 22nd title this Fall. Stay tuned, Tiger Nation.
