EXPYS Voting – Friday, July 29th Update
The 2016 EXPYS Awards have been open for six days now. Many teams and athletes have been taken firm control of their respective categories. However, there have been some, in my opinion, unexpected shifts in the leaderboard. With over a week left, there are sure to be more changes, and I am excited to see how they play out.
Without further a due, here is our 2nd Update for the 2016 EXPYS Awards!
Best Breakthrough Athlete
The Leader: Connor Holden (37%)
The Pack: Brewer Cahalan (23%) , Joey Mackin (12%) , Trent Ennenbach (8%)
Breakdown: Connor Holden increases his lead to 84 votes. Brewer Cahalan has made a huge jump in the voting, now leading Mackin by 67 votes. Ennenbach remains in fourth by 20 votes.
The Leader: Baseball (41%)
The Pack: Cross Country (24%) , Swimming and Diving (10%) , Golf (7%) , and Lacrosse (7%)
Breakdown: Baseball is in the lead by 35 votes. Cross Country has stayed steady, leading the new third place competitor by 19 votes after the Swimming and Diving Team jumped Tiger Golf.
Best Championship Performance
The Leader: Connor Holden’s shutout in the state title game (45%)
The Pack: Sam Mudd and Cam Scheler’s back-to-back walk-offs (29%) , Cross Country places all seven of their runners in the top 11 finishers (8%) , Keefer Barnum breaks the 100 yard breaststroke state record (6%)
Breakdown: Connor Holden maintains the lead for his second award, leading by over 70 votes. The Cross Country team has replaced Keefer Barnum for third, leading Barnum by a slim eight votes.
The Leader: Mudd’s walk-off vs. West Jessamine (37%)
The Pack: Matthew Thomas winning the Dream Mile (20%) , Basketball’s District Championship vs. Male (20%) , and Football’s win over Bowling Green (5%)
Breakdown: Mudd’s walk-off is in first place by over 50 votes. Matthew Thomas has surged into second place, now leading the District Championship vs. Male by only one vote. Football falling far behind, trailing third by 45 votes.
Tiger Pride Award
The Leader: Baseball (28%)
The Pack: Cross Country (15%) , Basketball (15%) , and Football (8%)
Breakdown: Baseball still continues to dominate the polls, leading by 33 votes. The Cross Country guys are really showing out, surging in another category. They are now TIED with the Basketball team. Football trails both by 18 votes.
The Leader: Connor McKim (29%)
The Pack: Matthew Thomas (19%), Adam Elliot (17%), Keefer Barnum (12%), and Caleb Grimes (10%)
Breakdown: McKim retains the lead for first, leading Thomas by over 40 votes. Elliot trails by ten votes. Barnum beginning to separate himself from Grimes.
The Leader: Coach Medley (27%)
The Pack: Coach Porta (26%) , Coach Larkin (15%) , and Coach Lancaster (11%)
Breakdown: This is the first lead change in the 2016 EXPYS Awards. Medley now leads Porta by one vote. Larkin trails by 21 votes, and Lancaster by eight votes.
Remember to vote everyday. If you want your favorite athlete/team to win an EXPY, you need to keep voting. You can vote once per hour everyday, so do that. Happy Voting!
