Tiger Baseball vs. West Jessamine – GAME THREAD

We’re live at Whitaker Bank Ballpark as Tiger Baseball is about to take on West Jessamine in the second round of the Rawlings/KHSAA State Baseball Tournament. We will be updating this thread as the Tigers look to advance to the Final Four. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 am.

Top 1st – Elliott comes back from being down 3-1 to strike out the first batter of the game. A ground out and a strike out ends the inning for the Colts.

Bottom 1st – Mitchell starts the game with a single but is thrown out a 2nd while trying to steal. The Tigers end up stranding two runners on 1st and 2nd as Hedges is struck out looking.

T2 – Elliott gives up a hit but retires the rest of the Colts with ease

B2 – Dedas started the inning with a single. Tucker is brought on as a courtesy runner and immediately steals 2nd. Esselman singled to LF to advance Tucker to 3rd. Mudd hit a sac bunt to bring home Tucker! Porta singled to right and Esselman scored from 2nd! A double play ends the inning.

2-0 Tigers

T3 – Colts go down in order.

B3 – The Tigers do the same.

T4 – Another 1, 2, 3 inning for the Colts

B4 – Hedges started the inning off with a single but Dedas’ pop out turned into a double play. Mudd and Esselman responded with back to back singles and advanced to 2nd and 3rd on a wild pitch but were eventually left on base.

Still 2-0 Tigers

T5 – Elliott is moving right along. Colts once again go down in order.

B5 – West Jessamine has a new pitcher and puts the Tigers down 1, 2, 3.

T6 – Elliott puts the Colts down in order for the 5th time this game and is up to 78 pitches with 8 strikeouts.

B6 – Tucker stole 2nd but nothing else for the Tigers in that inning. 3 outs away from advancing to next Friday’s semifinals.

T7 – The Colts scored 2 runs this inning. Greer advances to third due because of a fielder’s choice, and he scored during the next at bat. Layne was brought home by Blancet’s sac fly.


B7 – Sam Mudd comes up to bat and hits a WALK OFF HOME RUN!
