Tiger Football to travel to Central for Friday night showdown
This week, the Tigers will take on the Central Yellowjackets in what is always an interesting match-up. Last week, the Tigers defeated Bowling Green in a win that ended a four game losing to the Purples. You always have to be cautious after a big win because of a possible let down performance, but I don’t think that will be the case Friday night.
Central doesn’t seem to be the same team they have been in the past. They lost their first two games to Knox Central and DuPont Manual before defeating Central Academy of Louisville by a touchdown last week. The Yellowjackets were Class 3A runner-ups last year, but they were dominated by the Tigers 46-6 at Brother Thomas More Stadium in last year’s showdown. The score Friday should be about the same as last years.
As for the Yellowjacket’s defense, Safety Jaquan Brown is a player that has two interceptions to his name this season and has 15 solo tackles which leads their team. He also has returned one of those interceptions for a touchdown. Brown will be someone that Ridder and the Tiger’s offense will need to pay attention to. Jonathon Dooley and Aaron Duncan are two other names to keep an eye on.
The game will start at 7:30 pm at Central High School. Directions to the game can be found here.
Tiger Football needs to just play their game Friday night. They are better than Central, and were ranked #1 in the first Litkenhous Ratings. Number one teams in the State don’t lose this game, and the Tigers need to go out and prove to certain fan bases that they are the real deal and no game is going to trip them up.
We hope to see you at the came, cheering on the Tigers in person, but if you can’t make it, you can get live coverage on Twitter by following @WSTXSports and @TigerSports_TV. We’ll get you the radio information as soon as we hear, so you can listen to John Spears and Tony Burke on the call of what hopefully will be another big Tiger Football victory.
