Tiger Soccer opens season on the road Tuesday night against Central Hardin
The Tiger Soccer team will begin their season on the road Tuesday night at 7:00 pm, as they travel down I-65 to Central Hardin High School. The past two years the Tigers and Bruins have tied early on in the season. With this being another early season matchup, this could help the winning team gain some early momentum.
“St. X has been underrated these past couple of years, and this is the year St. X regains its supremacy,” Senior Trent Stigler said. “It’s not going to be easy, but I think we have the talent to do something special this year.”
Last season ended in disappointment, as the Tigers lost to their bitter rivals, Trinity, 3-0 in the Region semi-finals. This year the Tigers have veteran leadership, as they return seniors Colin Kremer and Trent Stigler along with Nick Eimers, Matthew and Clayton Burruss, Eric Brangers and Davis George.
Central Hardin also ended their season last year with a loss to Trinity, as they fell to the Shamrocks 3-0 in the first round of the State Playoffs. The Bruins return Seniors Garrett Kasey and Ben Heideman.
The Junior Varsity team will play Central Hardin at 5:30.
