Did you see this?

If you’re waiting for Tiger Football to get here and need something to get excited about, check out this video of Junior Kicker Owen Johnson splitting the uprights from 58 yards away. It looks like we won’t be having too many problems getting into field goal range if that’s the distance he’s putting on the ball right now.

Tiger Football has been really spoiled with great kickers for the last 6 years and even farther back. From Wyatt Gray on the 2009 state championship team to Brad Schickel in 2012 to Jake Collins in 2013 to Michael Bennett and Ben Logsdon last year, the Tigers have had some unbelievable legs on the team. We’re going to go ahead and claim the trademark for “Auto Owen” because we have a feeling we may need that for the next two years.

The distance is clearly there, but the elite kickers have a clutch gene, too. He’ll have plenty of opportunities to put himself in the same sentence of those guys above in what will surely be a season full of big games in 2015.

49 Days.
