The Tiger Track and Field team is losing a lot of great seniors that have contributed a lot to the team these past four years. The Tigers will be losing Mulloy, Glass, Hibbs, George, Kleine-Kracht, Garvey, Raque James to graduation. Those 8 have done a lot to put the Tigers in the position they were this season. Now, it will be time for the underclassmen to step up into their shoes.

10 athletes will now be going into next year with State Meet experience. The sprinters are looking to have a breakout season next year with a solid group of sophomores and Juniors O’Daniel and Ritter back as well.

In the Shot Put and Discus Throw, look for Junior Joe Fisher to step into Glass and Evin’s spots. In the Long Jump and Pole Vault, the Tigers will retain Masterson and Banta. In the Triple Jump, Mike Ervin will continue to improve and could battle for scoring next year at State.

In the Distance events, the Tigers have freshman Patrick Schaefer coming back with the potential to be great. Junior Matthew Thomas will be looking to win that 1600 meter crown next year.

It’s been a fun season. Good luck to the Seniors, as they move on from St. X and good luck to the returning Tiger Track and Field athletes as most will be competing in either Cross Country or Football next fall.

Go Tigers!
