Trinity Tiger Lacrosse Game Preview

St. Xavier Tigers (16-4) vs. Trinity Shamrocks (12-7)
Wednesday, May 13th
Semifinal Game – 8:00 PM
Br. Thomas More Stadium
Louisville, KY

Another year, another meeting between St. Xavier and Trinity in the lacrosse state tournament.  This time, it will be in the state semifinals which is a rare matchup.  Only 6 times since 2001 have we not seen this game being played for a state title.

For the third year in a row, the Tigers will host the state tournament at Br. Thomas More Stadium on the campus of St. Xavier. It is always special for the members of the team to play on their home field in the most important games of the year and it certainly gives them an edge. Pregame rituals are a little more familiar and takes at least a little bit of pressure off the biggest game of the season.

We are not so clueless to think the next game for whichever team advances will be a cake walk considering Tiger Lacrosse one of the two teams on the other side of the bracket a combined 28-4 in their two meetings, but every game matters and both games will have to be played with complete focus. We like our chances though if we advance to Friday night’s state championship showdown.
