Former Tiger Garrett Stephens and his Florida Gator teammates will take on the East Carolina Pirates on Saturday January 3 at Noon in the Birmingham Bowl.

Stephens was named the Special Teams Scout Team Player of the Year earlier this month at the Gators’ team banquet.  The Former Tigers hard work that he learned from his time at St. Xavier under Mike Glaser has paid off and the Florida coaches recognized his intensity all year giving the starters the best look they could get to prepare them to play.

Garrett’s coach, Will Muschamp, was fired, but quickly replaced by another Former Tiger’s coach, Jim McElwain from Colorado State who coached Deonte Clyburn for two seasons and hired Former Tiger Assistant Football Coach Rashad Harris.  A lot of Tiger connections down there in Gainesville.

Good luck to Garrett and the Gators as they look to take home the bowl game victory over the Pirates!  Tune into ESPN to watch the game on the 3rd day of 2015.
