Butler Named to C-J All-State Third Team; Sermersheim Honorable Mention

Butler and Sermersheim All-State

Christmas came a little early for two Tiger Football standouts who received word that they were a part of the Courier-Journal’s 2014 All-State Selections.

Junior Linebacker Logan Butler was named to the Third Team All-State Defense.  In his first year as an upperclassmen, Butler led the Tiger Defense in both tackles (46) and interceptions (12).  Butler wreaked havoc on opposing offenses all season long, most notably in Week 2 against Bryan Station where he put on an MVP performance, snagging three interceptions to help the Tigers take down the Defenders in their home city.

Senior Defensive Back Davey Sermersheim was selected as an honorable mention All-State Defensive Back.  Sermersheim was a big contributor to the Tigers success all season long with his leadership and head-hunter mentality as a corner.  Davey accumulated 38 tackles and seven interceptions in his final season in Green and Gold.

Congratulations to both these outstanding representatives of Tiger Football.
