The South Oldham Dragons edged out the three-time defending state champion Tiger Cross Country team 85-84 yesterday in the KHSAA State Cross Country Meet.

“South Oldham ran a better race than us,” St. X head coach Chuck Medley told Louisville Catholic Sports. “We’ve been through a lot this year. It finally caught up to us. Congratulations to them. The bad part is that it’s going to be even tougher next year.”

The St. Xavier program has gone through a lot of adversity this season due to many injuries and bad luck, but the Tigers raced extremely hard and fought to keep the trophy at Tiger Tech for a fourth straight year.  Unfortunately, South Oldham ran an amazing race.
