So, Manual, What Have You Been Doing?

Manual Cheerleaders

The Tiger Football team faces Manual Friday night in the Second Round of the 2014 KHSAA Football Playoffs at Br. Thomas More Stadium.  Let’s take a look at what the Manual Crimsons have been up to since the Tigers beat them 28-7 on the night of the last regular season home game back on October 17. Due to a new personal initiative to give the people what they want, I’m going to take a look at that now as I ask “So, Manual, What Have You Been Doing?”

*Male (away) – LOSSThis is one of the oldest rivalries in the country and emotions were high for the Crimsons as they gave the No. 1 team in the state a run for its money the week following a loss to us.  Rivalry games are hard to judge looking back on, but Manual left that game knowing they can compete with the best which gives them confidence for this Friday.  They lost to Male 21-28.

*Eastern (home)- WINEastern was not much competition for the Crimsons as they steam rolled to a victory over the visiting Eagles 48-13.

*McCracken County (away)- WINManual’s season was on the ropes last weekend in the First Round of the Playoffs.  At McCracken County, Manual found themselves in a 20-0 hole in the first half, but came out and scored 35 unanswered points to knock off District 1’s top seed on their home turf.  A heartbreaking loss for McCracken County, but Manual showed some serious toughness to climb out of that deficit and defeat a good McCracken County team.

Manual is coming in hot after a crazy second half performance at McCracken County and are looking to avenge their regular season loss to the Tigers.  The Tigers are executing very well though and will be tough to take down.  This will be the first meeting in the postseason between the two schools since 2008, which is surprising due to the numerous times the two programs met during the early 2000’s.  Look for a hard fought battle that could get chippy late as both teams slug it out for a trip to the next round and the Elite 8 of 6A.
