Tomorrow night, the Tigers travel to Male to take on the No. 1 ranked Bulldogs.  We want to hear about your excitement through this post! Comment below your score prediction and how you think the Tigers will knock off Male and ruin their undefeated season!

Here’s some background information put together by the Courier-Journal’s Jason Frakes on the Male Bulldogs to help educate your prediction:

Male Bulldogs (6-0)

Coach: Chris Wolfe (fifth season, 33-20).

Starters back: Offense 8, defense 8.

Class: 6-A, District 4.

Player to watch: Junior wide receiver Keion Wakefield (5-9, 165) had 41 catches for 888 yards and 11 touchdowns as a sophomore and will line up all over the field this season in the Bulldogs’ spread offense. Wakefield already has scholarship offers from the University of Kentucky and Cincinnati and was named the MVP among receivers at Oregon’s camp this summer.

Other top players: QB Davis Mattingly (Sr.), RB Ellis Cain (Sr.), RB Tyrone Wilkerson (Sr.), OL Houston Sparkman (Sr.), OL Isaiah Arnold (Jr.), DE Marcus Davis (Jr.), LB Stephen Miller (Sr.), CB Deiondre Coleman (Sr.), S Devin Gentry (Jr.).

Outlook: With so many starters returning on both sides of the ball, expectations are high for a Male team that lost to eventual state champion Scott County in last year’s 6-A semifinals. Marque Northington (state-record 108 catches last year) is gone, but Mattingly will have plenty of weapons from which to choose, with Wakefield, Cain and Wilkerson the top threats. The starting offensive line is huge, averaging 294 pounds. Davis is a top college prospect on the defense line and led the team in tackles last year (90.5). The one question mark is at linebacker, where twins Mike and Malik Malone have graduated.
