Helmet Stickers: Players That Shined Against Central
The Tigers picked up their fourth win of the season last night with a big victory over the Yellowjackets. Winning will surely boost the Tigers’ confidence heading into “The Game”. Lots of guys made some primetime plays and as such they deserve a special shoutout today. In the spirit of College Gameday, here are our choices for the guys deserving of a new helmet decal after Week 6:
Trace Amshoff

The 5-9 185 lbs. Senior linebacker snagged his first interception of the year. Amshoff played a lot of minutes Friday for the Tigers and gave them great leadership from the middle of the defense that will be key as we head down the stretch of the season. The turnover battle will win the game for either team this Friday and it is plays like Trace’s that give the Tigers chances to win.
Noah Houk

Another great performance from Noah was displayed last week against Central. Houk led the Tiger Offense for the first half which ended in a 40-0 lead heading into the locker room. He threw two touchdowns and added another on the ground to help the Tigers to their fourth win of the season. His game will be put to the test this week of course, but we believe that the Senior is up for it. Tiger Nation, enjoy Noah because there is not much more you could ask of a player when it comes to his leadership and in a blow out like last week, it was evident. For that, here’s a helmet sticker Noah.
Taijon Smith

Two touchdowns on 95 yards rushing was Taijon’s stat line for the win over the Yellowjackets before Coach Lyons and the coaching staff let off the gas pedal to get some younger guys playing time. Smith will have to have a big night for the Tigers in their game against Trinity at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium this week, so we’re glad he did his damage early and got some rest too.
