Helmet Stickers: Players That Shined Against Fairdale

Friday night showcased an awesome atmosphere inside Br. Thomas More Stadium to the hundreds of Future Tigers that were on hand for Future Tiger Night.  The win over the visiting Fairdale Bulldogs was one that gave lots of confidence to the heartbroken Tigers coming off a tough week 3 loss.  Lots of guys made some primetime plays and as such they deserve a special shoutout today.  In the spirit of College Gameday, here are our choices for the guys deserving of a new helmet decal after week 4:

Colin O’Daniel

The junior wide out brings an exciting playing style to the game that we haven’t seen in quite some time.  He is a track star that does a great job of running crisp routes and finds a way to get open A LOT.  In the game Friday, Colin caught a 49 yard bomb from Noah Houk to score the Tigers’ third touchdown of the game and put away Fairdale really early.  His breakaway speed totally twisted up the defender attempting to guard him, leaving him on the turf with his pride at about the 30 while O’Daniel glided into the end zone untouched.

Brandon Blaser

Brandon picked off Fairdale QB Dylan Garcia’s pass four plays into the Bulldogs’ first possesion and returned it all the way for a touchdown.  It is these kind of defensive plays that will win the Tigers’ big games later on this season.  The team that takes care of the ball is usually the one that wins and if the Tiger Defense can create turnovers like Brandon’s again and again, I like our chances in a lot of games this season.  The play was a great read by Blaser to sit on an out route by one of Fairdale’s wide outs and Garcia put the ball right on Brandon’s numbers giving him an easy pick-6.

Ben Logsdon

On Friday, outside of the game’s great outcome, the biggest storyline was the return of senior kicker Ben Logsdon.  He stepped right in and capped off two drives by making a pair of extra points and kicking off.  It was as if nothing ever happened, but that is not the case as our own Cole Bollinger told us in his great story about the journey of Ben Logsdon back to the field.  All of Tiger Nation was happy to see #15 put one through the uprights on Friday!
