Flashback: Tiger Football vs. Fairdale
The Tigers will see action again this Friday at 7:30 at Brother Thomas More Stadium against Fairdale. After a heartbreaking loss last Friday in Bowling Green, the Bulldogs should offer a nice rebound opportunity for the Tigers. If history repeats itself, St. X should have plenty of opportunities to fix what went wrong last week against Bowling Green.
In the archives of the KHSAA.org scoreboard, the Tigers defeated the Bulldogs 50-0 in dominating fashion on September 13, 2013. During last year’s matchup, 17 current players got in the game, providing even more experience for this year’s matchup. The stars of last year’s game were former standout Charles Walker who now suits up for the Kentucky Wildcats, and current senior running back TaiJon Smith. Smith ran for 50 yards on 7 attempts and scored a touchdown and had 15 yards receiving as well. Current junior running back Chase Rowan had a 6 yard touchdown as well. A plethora of current defenders for the Tigers(Connor Barnes, Tyler Boarman, Tucker Donlon, Will Edwards, Christian Fell, Parker Maddox, Will Mattingly, Kyle Oliver, Rowan and Davey Sermersheim) combined to make 13 tackles in the game.

Anderson went on to play for the Louisville Cardinals and as a freshman was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Year Award in 2008 as a redshirt freshman. Injuries plagued Anderson during his time at Louisville but he still managed to perform on a consistent basis under coaches Steve Kragthorpe and Charlie Strong. He will forever be remembered as a St. X legend.
The Tigers should roll on Friday night as they have in the past. Expect to see almost all of the seniors and some underclassmen rack up quality minutes against the Bulldogs. We look forward to adding another “W” to the Tigers’ record tomorrow night!
