So nice to see yet another Friday get here and have the excitement that this one has circling in the air due to tonight’s game against the Bowling Green Purples.

Bowling Green enters tonight’s game with a 46 game winning streak.  Yes, you read that right.  Coach Wallace and his team have not lost since November 12, 2010.  We R Who We R by Ke$ha was the No. 1 song on the Billboard Top 100 then.  The Purples have the nation’s third longest winning streak in the nation riding on tonight’s game and it is St. Xavier’s goal to end that.  Will it happen? We’ll see in 12 hours.

-Jason Frakes picked Bowling Green to win 21-20.  We agree that it will be a very close ballgame, but that pick was coming from a Bowling Green graduate, so we’re going to be homers too and pick the Tigers.  He did propose an interesting question on Twitter yesterday… do the Trinity fans root for us or against us tonight with their record of most consecutive wins on the line?  If the roles were reversed, would we root for Trinity?  Leave your opinion in the comment section below.

-According to the assistant sports editor at the Bowling Green Daily News, Zach Greenwell, the Tigers and Bowling Green will not be playing for the last time tonight because the Purple’s Media Notes say the two schools are under contract to play in 2015 and 2016 as well.  Works for us.  See you at Br. Thomas More Stadium same time next year, Purples.

Freshman Tiger Football defeated Ballard 48-18 in their first game of the season.  Quite an impressive performance from the young Tigers.  Quarterback Jack Albers is a player to watch over the next few years.  He has the potential to be a great high school quarterback for the Tigers when his time comes.  For now, we love seeing the big wins out of Coach Schweitzer and the Frosh!

-Former Tiger Sean Donohue, who is a sophomore tennis player for the Alabama Crimson Tide was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll yesterday.  Congrats Sean!

-According to Mapquest, Bowling Green High School is 115 miles from the front door of Tiger Tech, so plan accordingly Tiger Nation and make your presence heard at “The El”. Roll Tigers
