Lancaster wins Singles; Graft/Waldeck wins Doubles

Brandon Lancaster Champ

Junior Brandon Lancaster won the state Singles Championship by downing the 2013 champion, Austin Hussey of Covington Catholic, in the finals 5-7, 6-2, 10-8.

Junior Nick Waldeck and sophomore Matt Graft won the doubles state championship by defeating senior teammates Coleman Cox and Nick Quinones in the finals.

Freshman Drew Singerman made a deep run in the tourney, but lost in the semi finals to Hussey, but gave the Colonel a tough second set which was crucial in the lack of stamina for Hussey down the stretch in the singles state final against Lancaster.

This was the most dominating performance in Kentucky high school tennis history by any team.
